More than a marathon

Built around movement, community, and the next generation.

The Molokai Marathon & Festival of Races is designed to create an annual event that welcomes serious runners while remaining deeply connected to local families, youth, volunteers, and the island itself.

Why Molokai?

A road race with a real sense of place.

Molokai offers something rare in endurance racing: open roads, dramatic natural landscapes, rural communities, ocean views, and a strong connection between people and place. Participants will experience the island one stride at a time.

The Festival of Races makes that experience accessible across multiple distances so competitive athletes, first-time runners, walkers, keiki, kūpuna, and families can share the same day.

Hosted by Youth in Motion

Every mile moves our youth forward.

Youth in Motion is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on equipping, educating, and motivating Molokai youth through sports, ocean activities, leadership, and community involvement.

The marathon extends that mission by connecting participation with opportunities for youth groups, school teams, clubs, volunteers, and local organizations.
