Fly to Hawaiʻi
Most off-island visitors first arrive through Honolulu (HNL) or Maui, then connect to a regional flight serving Molokai Airport (MKK).
Molokai is part of what makes this race different. Give yourself time to plan the journey, arrive ready, and experience the island at its own pace.
Race weekend begins before the start line. Molokai is a rural island with limited flights, transportation, and accommodations compared with Hawaiʻi's larger visitor destinations, so planning ahead matters.
The race hub is in Kaunakakai on Molokai's south shore. Molokai Airport (MKK) is the island's main airport and is roughly a 15-minute drive from Kaunakakai. There is no direct commercial service from the continental United States, so most visitors connect through Honolulu or Maui before taking a regional flight to Molokai.
Flight schedules and carriers can change. Confirm current service before you finalize lodging or ground transportation.

Regional flights to MKK are short, but seats can be limited. Book early and leave enough time between connecting flights.
Molokai does not have a public transit system. Arrange a rental car, shuttle, taxi, or other transportation before race weekend.
Molokai Outdoors provides local travel information along with airport shuttles, car rentals, tours, and activity services. Their travel page includes current guidance on flights and accommodations and is a useful starting point for planning your visit.
Kaunakakai is the island's main town and the center of race weekend. Driving is straightforward, but services are limited and distances between parts of the island can take longer than they appear on a map.
Molokai has a smaller lodging inventory than Hawaiʻi's major resort islands. Options include Hotel Molokai, condominium properties, vacation rentals, cottages, and other locally managed accommodations.
For race weekend, secure lodging as soon as your travel dates are confirmed. If you are traveling with family or a group, coordinate transportation and accommodations together.
Do not wait until the final weeks to arrange flights, a rental car, or lodging. Molokai's limited capacity is part of its character, but it also means popular dates can fill quickly.
Check your regional connection and baggage requirements directly with your airline.
Ground transportation is limited, so arrange it before arriving on the island.
Review the race location, packet pickup information, and parking details when the final race guide is released.
Pack for warm coastal conditions and cooler temperatures in Molokai's higher elevations.

Plan ahead, arrive ready, and experience Molokai one mile at a time.
